About Campus Super Star

Indiana's Campus Super Star is a talent competition open to all students enrolled in any of Indiana's colleges or universities.

Soloist singers from all backgrounds, representing the full spectrum of musical genres, will compete in several rounds for different prize packages, including a grand prize of $5,000!

How the Competition Works

Cattle Call Tryouts
Tryouts will be held at Indiana University-Bloomington from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Indiana Memorial Union Walnut and Hoosier rooms on Sunday, February 21st, 2010; and in Indianapolis from 12:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Castleton Square Mall, Sunday, February 28. Up to 34 semi-finalists will be chosen to compete in the Semi-Final Elimination Show in Bloomington.

Semi-Final Elimination Show
The Semi-Finals will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24th, 2010 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater in Bloomington. From the 30 semi-finalists, 10 finalists will be chosen to move on to the Final Competition at the historic Madame Walker Theatre in Indianapolis. All Sponsors are invited to join us as V.I.P.s for the Semi-Final competition. All semi-finalists will receive a $25 gift certificate valid at any of the Scholars Inn eateries.

Final Competition Event
The Finals will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18th, 2010 at the historic Madame Walker Theatre in downtown Indianapolis. All 10 finalists will perform, and the top 5 will be selected by celebrity judges. From these 5, the audience will vote on one Grand Prize winner.

Targets
The program will be marketed from November 2009 - March 2010 to the following targets:

  • The general Indianapolis and Bloomington communities
  • 250,000 college undergraduate and graduate students
  • 20,000 college faculty and staff
